250D or 500D Close up lens...But on which lens?

The Canon close-up lenses cost about 5-10x the Hoya/Vivitar or 10-20x generic Chinese ones. The Conon ones are "doublet" twin element lenses and chromatic abberation control is much better - but not 10x better.
